RISING YOUNG KNIGHT SHINES AT FOXWOOD OPEN!
April 8-11, 2004

The ever promising Young Knghts can amaze everyone. When there is a knight in shining armor, there always is more and more. Matthew Brown of Newburgh took clear first place in the Under 1600 section of the prestigious Foxwood Open. Brown has been rising at a nice pace all year long. The last big tournament was in Albany where he took first place as well.

"It is finally happening! After a series of ALMOSTS when he almost beat some higher rated players, he is finally connecting!" said coach Alan Kantor. "Matt is improving at a rapid pace that is real nice to see." His next big tournament is at the National Junior High School Championship in Tucson, Arizona. "It would be nice to have another National Champion as part of the Young Knights family," Noah Belcher, of Bloominburg, previously won the K-1 Championship at the National Elementary Championship a few years ago.
